Swingin’ At The Savoy is as much about the music as it is about the dancing. We have two great bands for Friday and Saturday evening balls, and great local DJs for late night dancing and our Sunday farewell dance.

Friday February 24th — EVENING BALL @ Historic DeAnza Ballroom

The band appeared at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 1992, performing with Willie and Percy Humphrey; and they appeared at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 1999. The band has toured festivals in the US and Canada extensively and was voted one of the top five Favorite New (Emerging) Jazz Bands in the 1998 Mississippi Rag Trad Jazz and Ragtime Poll. In the same poll Clint was voted one of the top three Favorite New (Emerging) Musicians. In 2003 the Clint Baker’s New Orleans Jazz Band appeared at Osaka Jazz Street with the version of the band that was at the Jazz Bash by the Bay 2011.

Clint totally rocked the house at our first Swingin’ at the Savoy event, and he always brings great energy and great dancing music – so come out and join us!

Saturday February 25th — EVENING BALL @ Palo Alto Elks Lodge

The Harley White Jr. Orchestra is Sacramento-based Big Band specializing in Prohibition Jazz and Blues reflective of the 1920′s-1950′s. The orchestra is created by musician & composer Harley White Jr. Since 1991, Harley White Jr. has been a prominent figure on the Sacramento music scene in a wide array of roles ranging from pop recording artist with “Papa’s Culture”, as a creative force with “Blackalicious”, “Original Heads” and “Dr. Echo”, as an award winning bassist, and as an impresario presenting the WhiteNoise– festival.

Now, with the Harley White Jr. Orchestra, Harley White Jr returns to his musical roots as the son of prominent Oakland/Bay Area bassist, Harley White Sr.

Friday & Saturday Late Nights — DJ DANCING @ Fantasy Dance Studio

Each late night dance from 12:15am to 2:45am will feature two great DJs from the Bay Area to keep you dancing till the wee hours.

Sunday February 26th — FAREWELL DANCE @ Stanford

Our evening dance will be hosted at Stanford and feature DJ music, more details coming soon…
